A podcast inspired by a luminary.

Ernest O. Lawrence was an American nuclear physicist and the winner of the Nobel Prize in 1939 for his invention of the cyclotron. He was born in Canton, South Dakota and graduated from University of South Dakota. In 2023, he was portrayed in the Christopher Nolan film, ‘Oppenheimer’, which explores the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer and the development of the atomic bomb, a project to which Lawrence significantly contributed.

A New Life Science Research Park on West Nobel Street.

The inaugural building for the USD Discovery District is constructed on West Nobel Street in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This intention honors E.O. Lawrence, a Nobel laureate, and embodies a legacy of perseverance and vision, mirroring the relentless spirit of pioneers like E.O. Lawrence.

As the 50,000 sq ft build-to-suit commerical building is slated to open Winter 2024, the Favorable Environments podcast was created as a marketing effort to engage leaders in the life science and medical technology industries.
